With the generous support from Leif Hoegh & Co. and donation from Hoegh employees, SOS Children’s Village in Lipa City were able to build homes for children who are orphans, abandoned by their parents or children from intricate family. November 23, 2006, Hoegh Autoliner President, Thor Jorgen Guttormsen together with representatives from Hoegh Fleet Services and Leif Hoegh & Co., participated in the grand opening of these three newly constructed houses and social activities center. Each house will become a home to a “mother’ who will take care of as many as ten children.
This generosity has not end on that occasion. On December 20, the President/Gen. Manager of HFS Phils., Inc., Capt. Delfin Lopez Jr., together with two HFSP employees delivered twelve (12) units of washing machine donated by Leif Hoegh & Co., a wish granted to mothers of SOS Children’s Village.
The mothers with great smile and excitement received one unit of washing machine. They were very thankful with the openhandedness of Leif Hoegh & Co. HFSP representatives were able to visit few houses and overwhelmed how the mothers and co-helper, takes care of these children, give support and guidance and promise to give the love that these children were not able to obtain from their biological parents.
Like the delegates who participated in November 23, 2006 ceremony, we left SOS children’s village with valuable memories.
